Rep. Kinzinger criticizes Afghanistan pullout, says Biden administration should’ve foreseen Taliban threat

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Illinois Congressman Adam Kinzinger said he wants to hear more from the Biden administration about the pullout in Afghanistan Monday when the secretary of state heads to Capitol Hill.

Kinzinger criticized the Biden administration for its vague explanations in how it aims to prevent Al Qaeda from reforming.

On Sunday morning, Kinzinger said on CBS’s Face the Nation that Secretary of State Anthony Blinken should admit to the many failures the military to hold onto Bagram Airfield.

"I think there's a lot of people that bear blame and the secretary of state is one of these. And I think it would be nice and given, even under the prior president I would say this exact thing, for some people to just take responsibility. That's what the American people want is somebody to stand up and say, 'Look, this is on me,"  Kinzinger said.

He said the U.S. should’ve seen the collapse of the Afghanistan military ahead of time when the Taliban threatened leaders before the pullout.
