CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago-area Republicans came out in full force for an election night watch party on the city's Northwest Side.
TVs were tuned to Fox News and NewsMax, and there was no shortage of cheers whenever results favorable for the Republican Party took over the screens.
"I want to be here to support conservative Republicans that really live in the city," said one of the patrons.
There was no shortage of gear in support of Donald Trump, with Make America Great Again hats, Firefighters for Trump T-shirts and plenty of Trump-Vance signs. Many voters and Republican leaders cited border security and rule of law as the issues that were top of mind for them.
"Listen, if we don't have security in this country … nothing else matters," one man said.
Those present said they believed that the gathering proved there is plenty of Republican support in the city of Chicago.
