CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The American Red Cross and the state of Illinois are hosting a resource center Sunday for Naperville and Woodridge residents impacted by recent severe storm damage.

Last week's tornado ripped through west suburban Naperville and Woodridge, rendering dozens of homes unlivable and left hundreds with major damage.

Joyce Squire with the Red Cross is at the Resource Center at Thomas Jefferson Junior High in Woodbridge.

"We were helping a lot of people with different resources from financial services, health services, aid, with emergency supplies and disaster cleanup supplies,” Squire told WBBM Newsradio.

Other recent severe storms haven't helped the relief efforts happening in the area.

Several roads in Naperville were closed after flooding was reported and some homes with tornado damage need multiple tarps to keep heavy rains from further damaging the interiors.
