(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Like many others, Eden Restaurant and Events in St. Charles was hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

Co-owner Omar Musfi tells WBBM Newsradio the kindness and generosity of the west suburban community kept their business afloat.

“People made orders for $30 for $40, and they’d leave $50, $60 in tips just to support us,” he said.

Now, the restaurant is paying it forward by providing free meals to those in need on Christmas Eve.

“We thought we should give back to the community, because a lot of people are going through a tough time now, and we're trying to help as much as we can,” Musfi said.

Eden will hand out individual Mediterranean meals to any person or family in need on Friday, Dec. 24 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

“I hope we will see a lot of faces on Christmas Eve,” Musfi said.
