CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A popular Chicago craft brewery has decided to close its brewpub at the end of the year.

Revolution Brewing announced Saturday that they will be shuttering its Logan Square brewpub, located on Milwaukee Avenue, near California Avenue. The last day of service will be Dec. 14.

Revolution Brewing says the Kedzie Avenue production brewery and tap room will remain fully operational and open to the public.

“It pains us to have to say goodbye to so many hard-working members of our crew, but we know the experience and friendships we all share will last a lifetime,” Revolution Brewing said in a statement posted to their website.

“We are helping our team deal with the burden of this closure on their lives with severance packages and extended benefits, and we sincerely wish them the best as they take on their next challenge.”

The brewpub experienced great success in its early days, Revolution noted, hosting hundreds of weddings and memorable Oktoberfest weekends.

The company says business at the brewpub slowed in recent years and that the location has never fully recovered from the pandemic.

Next year, Revolution says they plan on putting up the building up for sale.

The brewpub opened in 2010.

“We hope to see some familiar faces. Come raise a glass to a 15-year run on Milwaukee Avenue. Our deepest thanks to everyone who stopped in over the years, it was a pleasure to serve you,” Revolution Brewing said in their announcement.
