JOLIET (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Residents in parts of Joliet and Crest Hill are being asked to boil their water until further notice.

A dramatic drop in the system’s water pressure was caused Friday when firefighters were battling a large fire at the BL Duke Scrap Metal Recycling Yard in Joliet.

Residents in portions of Joliet and those living south of Caton Farm in Crest Hill will be notified by their city once the boil water order is lifted.

For now, residents are asked to boil water for any drinking or cooking needs, any further questions can be directed to their local public works department.
