COOK COUNTY, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Sesame Street characters will be making their way to Cook County Drug Court in the coming months.

Cook County’s Drug Court is one of three in the nation trying a new program using Sesame Street videos to make it more plain to children what’s going on with their parents or other relatives who have substance abuse disorders and to make it clear to them that it’s not their fault.

Judge Charles Burns likes the concept.

"It’s cutting edge-something we really need to address…generational," he said. "Last thing we want is to ignore..nobody to talk about."

Drug Court personnel are being trained now in the use of the new program which should start in the coming months.
