CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A driver of an airport shuttle bus at O'Hare is in critical condition after a crash this morning.
Chicago Fire Department officials said they responded to Terminal 5 around 2:20 a.m. and found the shuttle bus, which seemed to have collided with a concrete median.
They also found the 80-year-old bus driver outside the vehicle. Police said the driver was ejected through the windshield. He was transported to Lutheran General Hospital.
There was also heavy damage to the bus.
Police have yet to provide details on how the crash happened.
Due to the cleanup and investigation, access to the terminal was limited for several hours.
