GURNEE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Thrill seekers can look forward to a brand new, record-breaking roller coaster coming to Six Flags Great America.

Six Flags has unveiled plans for its new dive coaster the "Wrath of Rakshasa."

The ride will tower at 180 feet tall and features a cliffhanger hold, which suspends riders as they face straight down a 96-degree, beyond-vertical drop, before they plummet more than 170 feet.

According to Six Flags, the ride breaks the record for steepest drop and most inversions on a dive coaster. The ride will reach a speed of 67 mph.

It will debut in the County Fair section of the park next year across from the fan-favorite Demon coaster.
