(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Officials have released the names of the four family members who were killed in their Romeoville home over the weekend, and police said they are working nonstop to solve the case.
Found dead in their Concord Avenue home Sunday night were Alberto Rolon, 38, and Zoraida Bartolomei, 32; and their two sons, 9-year-old Adriel Rolon and Diego Rolon, 7. Both children were students at Robert C. Hill Elementary School.
All had gunshot wounds and likely were killed between 9 p.m.
Saturday and 5 a.m. Sunday, officials said.
“It is always heartbreaking whenever there is a loss of life. But when children are involved, it’s much more painful,” Romeoville Village Mayor John Noak said in a video posted online Tuesday. “It is important that we conduct a thorough investigation, and we have committed our full resources to that task. The victims deserve that.”
Deputy Police Chief Chris Burne said the killings were not a random incident. The Will County Major Crimes Task Force is assisting local investigators, and police are asking anyone with information or surveillance video that may be helpful to contact them at (815) 886-7219.
“We will continue to exhaust every resource available, and we will not rest until those responsible for this tragedy are brought to justice,” Burne said in the video.
An online fundraiser has been started to pay for funeral expenses.
