CARY (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - No one was injured after a small plane made an emergency landing on a northwest suburban road this morning.

The single-engine aircraft safely landed on Cary-Algonquin Road near Fox Trails Drive, shortly after 8:15 a.m. Cary police said engine failure caused a 26-year-old female flight instructor and 21-year-old female flight student to make the emergency landing.

Nobody was hurt nor did the landing cause any property damage.

Officers diverted area traffic for roughly 90 minutes until the plane was towed away.

Police learned that the aircraft took off from DuPage Airport and was slated to land at Lake in the Hills Airport.

The FAA and NTSB could investigate the incident further.
