(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Indiana State Troopers had a long night on I-65 near Crown Point and I-94 near Michigan City.

Snow was falling when there were multiple crashes on northbound I-65 near the Crown Point Exit.

A dozen semi-tractor-trailers and several cars were involved, according to State Police. Some of the semis jackknifed.

There were injuries.

The severity was unclear, but there was a hazmat cleanup for diesel fuel.

All northbound lanes were blocked as heavy tow trucks were brought in. While troopers were dealing with that, a cattle hauler caught on fire on I-94 east of Michigan City.

It was fully engulfed when police and firefighters arrived. The clean up there also took hours.
