FLOSSMOOR (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man from Flossmoor was in court Sunday on aggravated battery charges for an incident involving Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx.

34-year-old William Swetz is charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle stemming from an incident on Friday in Flossmoor, where  both he and Foxx live.

Prosecutors from Foxx’s office said Swetz tossed a brown liquid from a cup in her face after reversing his GMC truck and accelerating towards her.

They said the state’s attorney stepped off the road out of fear he was going to hit her.

The site CWB Chicago reported Swetz said in court that he did not know who Foxx was, and his attorney called the incident a “mutual exclamation of frustration”.
