(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Illinois state police are investigating a fatal shooting involving Waukegan police Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities say Waukegan police officers responded to a call about a stolen vehicle in the 3200 block of Grand Avenue in Waukegan.
When they got there, a 48-year-old man tried to get away and during a struggle with officers, the man drew a gun and was shot, officials said.
State police say Waukegan officers did not fire their guns.
The man was pronounced dead at a hospital.
