CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — It is a time-honored tradition at the Cook County Clerk’s office: The first wedding of the year.
For Cook County couples looking to be the first to the altar in 2024, Tuesday is the last day to apply.
The winning couple will have a public ceremony, and the press is always invited.
They’ll also be treated to a surf and turf dinner, sparkling wine, Eli’s cheesecake, a comedy show and cooking and dance lessons — all of which are donated.
Entries can be made on the Cook County Clerk’s website through this Google form. Officials will hold the lottery on Wednesday.
The wedding will take place on Jan. 2, 2024.
