STREAMWOOD, IL (WBBM Newsradio) - Detectives with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office first began investigating 22-year-old Omar Reyes of Streamwood back in July of 2025, after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Reyes had been sending and receiving pornographic images depicting children using a social media app.
Investigators say evidence of this claim was found when executing a search warrant on Tuesday January 6, 2026 at the home where Reyes has been living.
Now charged with dissemination of child pornography and child pornography possession, during his first court appearance on Thursday January 8, Reyes was ordered to remain housed at the Cook County Jail.
