(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Strikes at three Illinois universities are either currently underway or looming--after negotiators failed to reach deals.
The administration at Governors State University has until 5:30 p.m. Monday to reach a deal with faculty and staff members of the University of Professionals of Illinois in order to avert a strike.
If a deal is not reached, union members plan to strike Tuesday morning.
It the strike happens, they would be the latest members of UPI Local 4100 to hit the picket line.
Thursday, hundreds of faculty and staff members at Eastern Illinois University started their strike, and at Chicago State University union members have been on strike since April 3 and plan to return to the picket line Monday if a deal isn't reached.
