
(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A high school student in DuPage County has been accused of threatening his principal.
Zachary Kurzeja, 18 is a student at Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream.
According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney office, Kurzeja allegedly commented to another individual at the school “Hey man, if you heard someone shot at principal at the head, don’t look at me" on August 24.
Kurzeja was taken into custody later that day after an investigation. The charge in this case is felony disorderly conduct.
“With the school year just beginning, I want to remind everyone that my office takes any threat of violence aimed at a school very seriously and anyone suspected of making such a threat will be investigated and charged accordingly,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement.
Kurzeja’s bond was set at $250,000 dollars.
