(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A west suburban high school went on soft lockdown Friday after a firearm was found on campus, officials said.
The scare at Morton West High School began around 10 a.m. Friday when an employee at the school spotted a photo on social media that showed two students, one of whom had a handgun.
Police at the school were able to find the student, and a handgun was recovered, Berwyn police said. A total of four students were detained by authorities in connection with the incident.
The soft lockdown eventually was lifted. An investigation continues.
