CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police detectives are investigating an attempted robbery early Wednesday morning that left a fast food restaurant worker in critical condition.
It happened at a Subway restaurant near Fullerton and Cicero at about 3 a.m.
According to police, a man with a gun walked in and demanded money from the register. The 23-year-old employee, police said, didn’t comply and was shot in the back and hand and was taken to Illinois Masonic, quite a distance away, in critical condition.
It’s unclear if the shooting was caught on surveillance video. The would-be robber took off on foot. Nobody is in custody.
