(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A man was shot in the parking lot of a southwest suburban children's indoor playground Saturday.
Alsip police were called to My KidzPlay on West 111th Street shortly before 5:30 p.m. for reports of gunfire.
When officers arrived, they found a man in the parking lot who had been shot several times. They provided first aid on the scene, and the man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. His condition was unknown as of Saturday night.
No other injuries were reported, police said.
Authorities said they believe the man was ambushed by a group of men who fled the scene in two vehicles: a silver BMW and a Jeep Compass. The shooting appeared to be a targeted attack, they said.
