
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - It’s been more than 12 hours since a swimmer disappeared into the water at Foster Beach Sunday night.
The Chicago Police Marine Unit was out searching after a distress call came in at about 7 p.m. Sunday. That call said someone went into the water on a warm and crowded Foster Beach and did not resurface.

The search involved a dive team and a helicopter, but none were able to find the missing person.
There is no information about the swimmer at this time.
The Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project has tracked at least 37 drownings in Lake Michigan so far this year.
