EVANSTON, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- For the second time this week, all Evanston beaches are closed to swimming due to elevated and unsafe E. coli levels, according to an announcement from the city.

All Evanston beaches are closed to swimming again today, Tuesday, July 4, with the exception of South Boulevard Beach, which has safe levels and is open to swimming.

There were concerns over sewer overflow and unsafe E. coli levels in Lake Michigan on Monday. The Evanston Dog Beach is also closed today.

The sand portion of all beaches will remain open, except Clark Street Beach, which is closed today due to firework display setup.
