(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A substitute teacher at a DeKalb elementary school earlier this month sent threatening text messages to herself, which prompted the school to go on soft lockdown, police said.
Breanna Lee faces several felony counts of disorderly conduct, filing a false police report and obstructing justice. She was a substitute teacher at Tyler Elementary school, the DeKalb Daily Chronicle reported.
Police were alerted Feb. 2 that Lee had received threatening text messages, saying that the sender would come to the school and kill the employee.
The school went on soft lockdown and officers escorted students and staff from the building, police said.
A subsequent investigation showed that Lee owned the phone used to send the threat, police said. She allegedly admitted to making up the text messages.
Lee surrendered to police and has a court date pending.
