(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Technical issues on Friday continued to plague DuPage Medical Group as a system outage persisted for a fourth day.

It’s not clear what was causing the problem, WBBM Newsradio’s Nancy Harty reports.

Frustrated patients have turned to social media — some tweeting to DuPage Medical Group for ways to connect because phone calls aren’t going through.

A banner on the website for the state’s largest independent physicians group said patients may encounter delays in clinics as well.

The Naperville Sun reports one patient wasn’t notified of problems until she arrived for an allergy appointment Tuesday and was turned away.

With questions about hacking or ransomware, the paper quotes a spokeswoman as saying the cause was under investigation and declined to answer if any data was compromised. A spokesperson tells WBBM Newsradio that medical care continues, with only "minimal delays."

The group has more than 750 primary care doctors in more than 100 locations.
