JOLIET (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Joliet police are asking for assistance from the public as they investigate a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Thursday.
It happened at about 5:45 p.m. on West Jefferson Street and Reedwood Drive.
Police said a 19-year-old man was heading east on a motorcycle.
A 19-year-old woman driving an SUV was turning westbound onto Jefferson. The motorcycle slammed into the SUV. The man was thrown from the bike.
He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police said it is believed that the speed of the motorcycle may have been a factor.
The woman was not injured.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or may have video footage to contact them.
