Teen killed in NW side motorcycle crash: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A teenager is dead after a motorcycle crash on the Northwest Side early this morning.

 Police are investigating the crash that happened in Portage Park near Irving Park and Central.

Officers said just before 2 a.m., the 19-year-old was driving a motorcycle westbound on Irving Park when he sped through a red light and hit a vehicle on the passenger side.

The 19-year-old sustained major trauma to the head and body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 21-year-old driver of the vehicle had minor cuts on his face and right leg and was transported to the hospital in good condition.
