CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Pre-pandemic sized crowds are expected in the Loop this weekend as the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle kicks off, but the race is only one of several events sure to bring people out all across the Chicagoland area.

-Thousands of runners will continue St. Patrick’s Day celebrations by turning Chicago’s streets green. The 42nd Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle kicks off the spring racing season Sunday morning by bringing green-clad participants on either an 8K run, two-mile walk or one-mile race throughout the Loop.

-Sip & savor over 100 wines and bubblies from across the globe during the Uncorked: Chicago Wine Festival. Hosted at the Museum of Science and Industry, the event offers after hours access to the museum along with a DJ and gourmet food.

-South Africa's five time Grammy Award-winning singing group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo comes to the Old Town School of Folk Music Saturday evening. Listen as their powerful voices carry a message of peace, love and harmony.

-Tradition, history, and creativity are the main ingredients for the 2nd Annual Naperville Bluegrass Festival. Catch seven amazing performances at the Sheraton Lisle-Naperville and be sure to come early for the workshops and open stage.

-Commemorate Greek Independence Day with the Greek Heritage Parade. Considered one of the biggest annual events in Chicago’s Greek community, Sunday’s event features traditional costumes, music and dance troupe performances at Elysian Field.

-And find “somebody to love” at the Rosemont Theatre, where One Night of Queen presents an epic tribute to the music of Freddie Mercury and his legendary band with performances by Gary Mullin and The Works.
