LONG GROVE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - You know that covered bridge in Long Grove? Yep, it happened again.

The latest incident makes about 45 in two years. This time it was an Amazon delivery truck that got stuck.

The truck’s height was just over the 8 foot 6 inch clearance.  As is always the case, all the warning signs didn’t matter.

This time it was close, though. And, the truck fared better than some have in the past.
It appears it was just scraped on the top.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office posted a picture on Facebook.

“Where are the brains?” someone commented.

And,  a few suggested it’s time for a “dummy bar,” which would tell a driver if their vehicle is too tall before they hit the bridge or get stuck. That’s been under consideration.

The bridge, built in 1906, and rebuilt a few years ago, is on the National Register of Historic places. It’s probably a contender for a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records, too.
