JOLIET, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A $5 million bail has been set for a Joliet man accused this week of killing his uncle.
Anthony Harames, 31 was already in custody after a six hour standoff with police Wednesday following a domestic disturbance.
Harames told investigators that he had killed his 53- year- old uncle and disposed of the body at a Joliet cemetery, according to Joliet police.
“According to family there had always been a beef between the two and it seemed like they got into an argument and it got out of hand,” Joliet police Sgt. Dwayne English said.
Police then charged him with murder, concealing a homicidal death and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon after the body of a man not yet named by police was retrieved along with a knife believed to be the murder weapon.
Harames is expected back in court on Monday.
