(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — There was a major response to a vehicle fire in the parking garage at Trump Tower Tuesday morning, but investigators say the fire was quickly extinguished.
Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford explained why so many firefighters and ambulances responded to the vehicle fire in the Trump Tower parking garage near the corner of Wabash Avenue and Kinzie Street.
“The car that caught fire on the sixth floor of the parking garage. It was a still and box response because it's a high-rise, and that's pretty much it. Car fire was put out.”
Langford said firefighters were able to put water on the fire and quickly extinguish it.
Sources tell WBBM that a man who suffered smoke inhalation because of the fire was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
