CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A well-known Lincoln Park hot dog stand released video Thursday morning of a disgruntled would-be customer who threw a brick through the glass front door Wednesday night after being denied service for refusing to wear a mask.
According to Chicago police, the man first entered the restaurant around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday night and attempted to order food, but “became irate” when workers asked him to put on a mask.
Police said he threw snow at a worker and then fled in a vehicle. He later returned and threw a brick through the front door of the restaurant, shattering the glass.
The Wieners Circle, located at 2622 North Clark Street, had first posted to Twitter on Wednesday night that a customer who was denied service after refusing to wear a mask became angry and threw a brick through a window. But on Thursday morning, that statement was corrected to reflect it was in fact the front door that was damaged.
Now the hot dog stand, known for their special brand of customer service, is calling all Wienerheads to check out video of the incident, which includes a visible license plate, hoping that the man can be identified.
