CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are looking for the two people who attacked a man early yesterday morning on a CTA Red Line train on the South Side.
One of the passengers on the ‘L’ train videoed the attack and posted it on social media. It showed a man being confronted by two people.
Police believe it was a man and a woman. One of them ordered the victim to show them some ID so they know his name. Then, one grabbed what appeared to be a wine bottle from underneath the man’s coat, while the other stole cash from him.
When the man stood up to try to get back his cash, the video showed one of the attackers hitting him in the head with the bottle, causing him to bleed. 15th Ward Ald. Ray Lopez, who’s running for mayor, tweeted that it’s time for the CTA to have its own police force riding trains and walking platforms.
The video ends with the person taking it getting off the train, while the man was still sitting holding his head.
