(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Another water issue has surfaced in Dixmoor.
Officials say the main water line feeding all of the water mains has broken, leading to low pressure throughout the village.
The break on Tuesday occurred at the main water line located on Spaulding Avenue. The village’s water reservoir was drained because the break was on the main water line.
Repairs are underway. There is no boil water order.
“This line is scheduled for replacement soon,” Dixmoor Mayor Fitzgerald Roberts said in a released statement. “But for right now, we are working on getting it repaired so that we can refill our water reservoir and get the pressure back up in Dixmoor.”
Dixmoor has been plagued with breaking water mains for years, due to an aging water system that is badly in need of replacement.
