(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Waukegan police officer is facing criminal charges, after his supervisors accuse him of abusing a suspect.
Investigators say on Dec. 14, Officer Richard Tabisz yanked a suspect's head to the ground after the man was arrested for domestic battery and violating an order of protection.
The man was treated for a minor injury, police said.
Investigators say other officers reported Tabisz, and a review of body-cam video confirmed the incident.
Tabisz was immediately placed on administrative leave, and Lake County prosecutors have now charged him with official misconduct and battery.
Waukegan police say Tabisz also faces an internal investigation.
