(WBBM NEWSRADIO) —This week’s indictments of a current and a former Chicago alderman had the keepers of one website scrambling to provide updated content.

The website Has My Alderman Been Indicted was launched two years ago by the journalism lab City Bureau and is done in a tongue-in-cheek manner.

“It’s part public-education campaign … partly a joke that began in our newsroom,” co-founder Darryl Holliday said Friday.

He noted that Chicago has had 30 aldermen convicted of corruption since 1973.

The website now has information about Ald. Patrick Daley Thompson and former City Council member Ricardo Munoz, both of whom were slapped with federal corruption charges on Thursday.

It features a search-engine feature in which users type in their address or enter their city ward number for potential indictment “hits.”

In cases where there is no current indictment, the website says, cheekily: “Lucky you! But, it’s Chicago… check for updates early and often.”
