CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A West Side mother is facing charges after allegedly leaving four children home alone.
Twenty-nine-year-old Dominique Bishop-Smith is charged with four misdemeanor counts of child endangerment, one count for each of the children.
A 1-year-old boy, a 4-year-old girl, a 7-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy were all left home alone, police said.
The older boy stopped police officers who had been at a call on the 4800 block of West Jackson on Sunday afternoon. He told them he and the other children were alone in a house on the block.
It’s unclear how long they had been left alone.
The children were taken to a hospital to be checked out.
Eventually, the woman was located and charges were filed.
