Wheeling couple discovered dead inside their home: Police

WHEELING (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The discovery of two bodies inside a northwest suburban home has sparked a homicide investigation.

According to Wheeling Police, a couple, a man and woman, were found dead inside their home in the 300 block of 12th Street by a person conducting a well-being check.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the female victim as 46-year-old Marisa Dister and and the male victim as 44-year-old male Russell O’Connor.

The two were in a “strained domestic relationship,” police said.

Detectives later found a gun near the bodies.

An investigation remains ongoing, however police stated that there is no active threat to the public.
