(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago’s South Side will play host to a unique-looking garage sale on Saturday.

It’s not quite rummaging through a box of items on your neighbor’s driveway. This garage sale sets up shop in the heart of Guaranteed Rate Field.

“It’s free and open to the public,” Sarah LaPorta, Director of Community and Charitable Programs for the White Sox. “We’ll have probably over 1,000 fans here tomorrow, checking out game-used memorabilia, autographed items, promotional items, T-shirts, all kinds of stuff.”

LaPorta said all proceeds benefit White Sox Charities, which last year made nearly $2 million in charitable donations throughout Chicago.

She said unlike some charities, 98 cents of every dollar given to Sox Charities goes straight back into the community.

“White Sox Charities wouldn’t be here without our fans. We say that we are powered by fans, and that could not be more of a true statement,” she said.

The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
