BARRINGTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Colleagues and patients are remembering a doctor who was shot and killed over the weekend in Barrington.
The Lake County Coroner's Office said 42-year-old Olga Duchon of Vernon Hills died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Doctor Maria Hrycelak is president of the Ukrainian Medical Association of North America. She told CBS News Chicago she attended a lecture by Dr. Duchon on Sunday afternoon and said goodbye to the respected endocrinologist less than two hours before she was killed.
"It was just the shock," said Hrycelak. "Oh my God, this young lady who we just spoke to yesterday, I shook her hand, and she's gone now."
Barrington police have not shared any information about a suspect or announced an arrest in the shooting at The Arbors apartment complex.
They are calling it a domestic-related incident between family members.
