An Illinois woman is a finalist for the $1 million prize with Powerball on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2023."

Dr. Cynthia Hines-Butler of Yorkville said she enters the sweepstakes every year but never thought she'd actually win.

"And I said, if you're lucky, Cynthia, you'll win the $100 gift card; if you're lucky. Once I realized that it was my name, I was like, I can't believe it. Are you serious? Something's not right. So I was just happy," Hines-Butler.

Hines-Butler is joining 28 other finalists in New York City for a VIP trip. She said it's her first time in New York, and she's just happy to be involved.

"At the end of the day, I am a winner. I'm a winner because I get to come to go to New York, which I've never been. I get to see a show on Broadway in New York, and I get to just meet some nice people that I'll be meeting," Hines-Butler said.

Hines-Butler said if she does win the million dollars, the first thing she's doing is thanking God and then plans to upgrade her Volvo.
