Woman shot and killed outside NW suburban apartment complex

BARRINGTON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police in the northwest suburbs are investigating a shooting Sunday that took the life of a woman.

Police in Barrington said they were called to the area of Russell and Lageschulte at about 5:40 p.m. because someone had been shot.

Officers discovered a 42-year-old woman with a gunshot wound near the Arbors apartments. She was treated by paramedics and taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

No one is in custody. Initially, the department called the shooting an isolated incident and said there was no threat to the public.
