Woman shot in South Side home invasion: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A woman was shot during a home invasion Tuesday morning in Washington Park, on Chicago’s South Side.

It was just after 5 a.m. when Chicago police said a man or young man forced his way into the home near 62nd and King Drive.

A man and a woman inside got into an argument with the intruder, who, police said, they know.

Police said the man or young man pulled out a gun and shot at the pair.

The 26-year-old man, who has a valid FOID card and a concealed carry license, shot back.

The 26-year-old woman was shot in the thigh. She was taken to the hospital in good condition. Police say no one else was hurt and the intruder took off.
