CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Current and former female elected officials held a rally Tuesday under the banner of “Women for Brandon” at the South Side headquarters of the Rainbow Push Coalition.

"We are women for Brandon. He’s the hottest thing going," said Former State Rep. Monica Faith Stewart. "We're not taking the city back. We're talking about taking the city forward."

She joined a room full of women rallying for Brandon Johnson including Jackie Collins, Pat Dowell, Helen Schiller, Maria Haddon, and leaders in the civil rights movement.

Former State Senator Jacky Collins said women can elect Johnson.

"We make the decision on April 4th. April 4th is the right time in history to make Dr. King proud of what we have accomplished. Let's fulfill his dream and come out strong."
