Two and a half years of self-reflection, transitions, and high standards helped Dustin Lynch find his Clean Slate, the 7th studio album from the “How You Been” singer.
To celebrate, Lynch joins Rob + Holly this week on the Friday Night Takeover, explaining how the rise of pool party DJ sets helped reinvigorate his passion for creating Country music.
“This is 2 and a half years of just being patient,” shares Lynch. “I could have put out and packaged together songs and put out an album 10 times over, but I hold myself, and my producers, everybody I collaborate with, we just want to hold ourselves to a high standard, and the bar is high.”
A change in producers and the search for great songs took time for Dustin, wanting to make sure he got it right. “I'm really proud of ‘Clean Slate’ and my goal is, that there's a few songs that hit people in a great way and help them out however they see fit”
.
The whole process and the emergence of his DJing career, has given Lynch new life and drive in Country music.
“it's been an awesome ride,” he says. “What's changed in my life, through this process is, I'm more fired up right now, because I think I've had the luxury of taking my time with this album while also getting to make a new type of music 15 years into my Country career.”
“It's kind of reinvigorated my chase of Country songs and I'm so fired up y'all.”
