King Center CEO, Dr. Bernice A. King, was quite emotional Thursday, as she prepared to announce the slate of public programs and events in celebration of the King Holiday Observance. The National Park Service, which oversees the preservaton of historic sites, was not in attendance inside the Yolanda King Theatre for the announcement. King spoke about the shutdown, and what she thinks needs to happen in order for there to be a resolution.
