Want to get dirty but still look good?

Well, then…we just might have your truck here.

Yes…gone are the days when Nissan's Armada looked like someone took two different vehicles…sawed them in half…and then switched fronts and rears and glued 'em back together.

And then there were the years when the Armada was just the pudgy kid tryin' to fit in.

But hey…no more.   Nissan sent their Armada to the gym and look what happened…a real  chunk of eye candy if the opinions of at least a dozen friends and strangers can be trusted.   And I agree.

Your '25 Armada has the chiseled chin / squared-off look that's made so many six-figure SUV's favorites of the one-percenters.  But as you'd imagine, and to Nissan's credit, no matter how much capability and luxury they build into the Armada, you just can't option-it-up to approach six figures.

So since we seem to be talking about price, here's the deal:   Armadas start in the mid to high $50's.   If all you want is a big, roomy, workhorse or toy-pullin' vehicle, a base Armada is going to check a whole lotta' boxes

Yesterday's V-8 is gone, but you still get 425 HP and even more torque…516 lbs …from Nissan's twin-turbo 3.5 V-6 and 9-speed auto.  That'll let you tow up to 8,500 lbs. Plus you'll get 18" alloys, 7-passenger 3-row leatherette seating, tri-zone temp, 6-speaker audio and rear privacy glass.

Our test Armada stepped it up big time, tho', with Nissan's first-time-ever Pro-4X package.   And that got us a serious 4X4 vehicle with skid plates, a locking rear differential, adaptive electronic air suspension, and beefy 275 X 60 X 20 all-terrain tires…plus an excellent premium 12-speaker audio from an unfamiliar name…Klipsch…all for a roughly mid-$70's list price.

Then Nissan's $2,780 Premium package got us a panoramic sunroof, motion-activated rear liftgate, heated and ventilated front and outboard second row seating with 12-way power adjustments and 4-way lumbar for both driver and passenger, an intelligent dash cam, and biometric cooling.

Biometric cooling?   Yes.   An infrared camera on the roof detects if your front and second row passengers are getting hot and automatically sends 'em an extra bit of cool breeze.

Want another whiz-bang feature?  Got it.  You know how rain, fog, even dust can obscure vision out of your rear view camera?  You can get a rear-camera dryer on your Armada to blow away those rain drops.  Pretty cool…and it's a feature that I haven't noticed yet…even on several six-figure vehicles.

Mileage, as you'd imagine, is EPA rated at 15 city and 18 highway, altho' I did some "Grandpa" driving and eked out 20+ on one steady 60-70 mph holiday commute to work.

Room is improved in your new '25 Armada, too…with 5+ move inches of legroom for your third-seaters…and you still get 20+ cu ft of luggage room behind that third row.   While only around two inches shorter than a Chevy Yukon, the '25 Armada seemed to drive smaller than it really was…making big city driving a non-issue.

In short, if you're looking for a healthy dose of capability and comfort all dressed up in a new jogging outfit, a dozen knowledgeable folks that had the chance to take a real good look all think that Nissan has built a crowd-pleaser with their new Pro-4X.

I agree.
