Are you lookin’ for drama?

If so, go to a movie…watch TV…maybe even go to a family reunion…but there’s no drama to be found in a Hyundai Palisade.

The Palisade is Hyundai’s biggest family-friendly three-row SUV.   It’s all about luxury, tech, and utility…at an attractive price…but no drama, thanks.

And speaking of “price”, read on.  Hyundai has a surprise for you.

But let’s start with the specs.   Your Palisade will come with a 291 HP 3.8 liter six and an 8-speed automatic.   The EPA rates your mileage at up to 26 MPG in two-wheel-drive form…a mile or two less with the all-wheel-drive that we had.

And as you’d imagine, Hyundai offers a handful of trims, starting from right around 40K on up to our loaded Night Edition AWD Calligraphy with its 56K window sticker.

So what does a mid-$50’s Palisade get you?

Quite a bit.  Compare Hyundai’s content with any high-end European or Japanese import and I believe you’ll agree.  Let’s look:

Heated Front, middle AND third-row seating for starters…and the fronts and second row are ventilated as well. And those second-row seats are Captains’ Chairs, of course. Heated steering?  Sure. Plus a hands-free power rear liftgate, ambient lighting, USB ports in all three rows, Harman Kardon premium audio, a 12.1” screen, surround-view, heads-up display, parking assist, a big dual-pane sunroof, and big 20” dark alloy rims.

Want even more?   OK..   That’s what Hyundai is known for, isn’t it?   The Calligraphy trim also delivers what Hyundai calls Ergo-Motion seating for the driver.   Unlike standard massaging seating, Hyundai’s version can be set to sporadically activate after a certain time behind the wheel…to massage, stretch, and otherwise keep the driver alert.

And Hyundai keeps it current in the tech department, too, with their “Digital Key”…allowing you to pre-warm or cool your vehicle with your smart phone and make purchases with your digital wallet…as well as simply loan your keys to someone, also by phone.   But then, in true luxury fashion, your Digital Key will allow you to re-set all your personal preferences…radio, seating, nav…all with just a click.

And if you’d like just a little more off of the mid-$50’s list price, your time is now.

Not that I found much to improve with the ’25 Palisade, but the ‘26’s are now out…and revised enough that Hyundai is offering $3,750 discounts and 1.99% financing on their ‘25’s at the time of this writing.

Even before any negotiations with your dealer, that’d put you right around 50 thousand in 2-wheel-drive trim…and that’s a lot of comfort, tech, and capability for the price.
