Happy Founders' Day To Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Omega Phi Phi is a historically black collegiate fraternity that was founded on November 17, 1911 on the campus of Howard University by Edgar Amos Love, Oscar James Cooper, Frank Coleman and their faculty adviser, Dr. Ernest Everett Just. The purpose was "to attract and build a strong and effective force of handsome men dedicated to its Cardinal Principles of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift.”

Since its inception, the fraternity has chartered over 750 undergraduate and graduate chapters and done a countless number of things for African American communities all over the world.

Over 250,000 men have been initiated into Omega Psi Phi including civil rights activist, Jesse Jackson, athletes Shaquille O’Neal, Vince Carter, Michael Jordan, jazz musician, William "Count" Basie and iconic radio host, Tom Joyner.
