WATCH: Marvin Arrington Sr lies in state inside chamber named after him

Atlanta City Council is honoring the man who the meeting chamber is named for, Marvin Arrington Sr. He was a former council president. Arrington was 82 when he died on July 5, 2023.

Arrington is to lie in state inside council chambers from 10a-4pm today. Council is holding a program at noon today to remember Arrington who also served as a Fulton County Superior Court judge.

Celebrations of the life and legacy of Arrington are scheduled through Saturday, July 29, 2023. His funeral will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023.
